Today's Activities

Hello guys, welcome back with me Charisma Mufadilah on my personal blog.

Today I will tell you about my activities today. So, today starting with morning lecture, Then proceed with watching a horror film entitled "Bisikan Iblis" that released in 2018.

The film was played by several Indonesian artists, including Amanda Manopo, Rebecca Klopper, Zoe Jackson, etc.

Starting with a children namely Nany (Amanda Manopo) witnessed when her mother, Sophia, was killed by a "black devil". As a teenager, Nany had a desire to study in the same place as her mother, namely Erly High School and live in her dormitory. Neny then befriends Shila (Rebecca Klopper) who always defends her when she is bullied by Hilda (Nicole Parham) and Violet (Andira Hadley). At the school it keeps a dark record because many of its students died by suicide. Then Neny began to be haunted by various apparitions of the dead school students. Fortunately, in Erly's dormitory she shares a room with Gie (Zoe Jackson) who says that all the sightings are aimed at conveying a message to Nany about the cause of their deaths. Together with Shila and Gie, Nany uncovers the mystery of Erly's Dormitory which turns out to be related to her mother's death 8 years ago.

In my opinion, this film proves that a novel adaptation can work well, as long as it is executed seriously. The storyline is easy to digest. No annoying holes. There is one part that I initially suspected as a dialogue error, it turned out to be a clue to the mystery. The dialogue itself as a whole is also comfortable to listen to. Although there are some inconsistencies in the pronunciation of personal pronouns.

Like the local horror films of their time, ghost sightings still rely on spooky make-up talent. CGI is still rough. Nevertheless, I like the consistent depiction of the curious spirits of the victims of the black demon. White eyes with sewn mouth. That's creepy.

Okay, I think it's enough from me. Thanks for reading my writing. I hope you enjoy it and see you later in my random story.

Jump scares tend to be monotonous and don't serve anything special. Except for one scene in the first act, where there is a ghost who suddenly wants to barge into Nany's room. Pretty shocking. On the other hand, the scoring deserves appreciation. Do not rely much on loud volume music.
